Compare Pals that combine Mining and Transporting when the same base area must extract and move materials.

How to get more from your Mining Pals
Base level is only the starting point. Work suitability is capped at 10, not 8, and condensing, an Applied Technique book, and a Tetroise parked at the base can each add a level. That is why the Mining 6 Pal you already own often beats the Mining 8 you do not, and why the full directory below is worth reading past the top three.
How Mining suitability and Partner Skills work together
Work suitability describes a base job and its level. Partner Skills can change how a Pal supports that job, what it produces, or what it does alongside the player. Compare both before choosing a worker.
Raises every other minerTetroise Masonry Archelon: Masonry Archelon adds +1 Mining suitability to every other Pal at the base, so Tetroise is worth a slot even though its own Mining level is only 4. It is the single cheapest level your whole mining line will ever get. The bonus does not stack, so one Tetroise is enough, and note that Tetroise Primo is a different Pal with a weapon durability skill and no base bonus.
Fastest ore farming in the gameDigtoiseDrill Crusher: Drill Crusher sends Digtoise spinning after you at 800 to 2000% ore mining efficiency. Nothing assigned to a base comes close, so when you need a stack of ore now rather than a steady trickle, take Digtoise out to a node instead of adding another miner at home.
Mounted ore runAstegonBlack Ankylosaur: Black Ankylosaur deals 1100 to 3300% more damage to ore and returns 150 to 300% more Ore while you ride Astegon. It clears distant nodes on the way past, which pairs well with its Mining level 7 back at the base.
Carries the haul homeReptyroOre-Loving Beast: Ore-Loving Beast cuts the weight of all ore by 30 to 60% while Reptyro is in your party. It solves the real bottleneck on a mining trip, which is the walk back, not the digging.

Mining level first, base role second
The directory is sorted by base Mining level, highest first, straight from the game data. No hidden score is mixed in, because two Pals on the same Mining level can suit very different bases once you look at what else they do.
Secondary jobs sit next to Mining rather than being folded into the ranking. A miner that also transports is worth more in an ore base than a slightly better miner that only mines, and only you know which of those your layout needs.
How to choose a Mining Pal for your base
Count the ceiling, not the base level
Mining suitability caps at 10, and a Pal can climb there from its printed level. Each condensing rank adds +1, an Applied Technique book adds a permanent +1, and a Tetroise stationed at the base adds +1 to everyone else working there. Aegidron at 8 needs only a Tetroise and one condense rank to hit the cap, and a Mining 6 Pal you already own can reach it with a book and two ranks. Upgrading a Pal in your box is almost always faster than hunting the one at the top of this list.
Fill the second job before adding a second miner
Ore piles up next to the node when nothing carries it. A base with one strong miner and a transporter usually out produces a base with two strong miners, so read the secondary jobs column before you add another pickaxe. Knocklem covers both roles in one slot when you are short on beds.
Mine by hand when you need ore today
Base mining is a trickle you collect later. Digtoise spinning at up to 2000% efficiency, or Astegon under you clearing nodes on a flight, will fill a chest faster than any assignment. Keep both approaches: assigned miners for passive income, a Partner Skill for the moment a build is blocked on ore.
